Are changes in insurance law on the horizon?

Michigan, as well as the rest of the country, has recently been embroiled in debate regarding what is best for its citizens. These issues have been addressed from a political, economic and personal point of view. One thing is certain: the current and future climate in regard to insurance and insurance law will remain rather volatile in the foreseeable future.

Recently, a group of concerned experts in the health care profession met to discuss how the recent election results could affect current health insurance law. State hospitals, doctors' offices and businesses currently have systems in place to meet the current regulations. Discussion revolved around possible changes to the insurance model and potential time frames.

One area of particular concern was the Healthy Michigan program. For the most part, convention attendees agreed that there would be changes to current insurance programs. They also generally agreed that these changes would be met with immediate replacements for the current programs.

Another topic of conversation was the difficulty in planning for policy changes without knowing what they will be. To date, there is not even any certainty if there will be changes. Businesses are concerned and are trying to determine what they need to do to protect themselves from potential penalties or financial losses that could result from potential policy changes.

Considering the volatile nature of the current and future climate as far as insurance is concerned, many Michigan businesses are looking for answers. They are finding that they need assistance in navigating current insurance law and upcoming policy changes. By acquiring the experience of an insurance attorney, they are protecting their business.
